China Trip (Summer 2009)

From May 17 to May 31, a 10-member delegation of NACEA officers and members led by the current President, May Li, visited 8 cities in China: Shanghai, Zhenjiang, Changzhou, Yangzhou, Wuxi, Yangzhong, Danyang and Dezhou.

In Shanghai, the delegates attended seminars with speakers from successful returned Chinese entrepreneurs, Chinese venture capitalists and local officials. We also discussed opportunities in local areas and visited Zhangjiang High-tech Park. In each of the other cities, we toured the Development Zone, the Industrial Parks, or the Returned Chinese Parks; listened to the local policies; and visited/talked business with local enterprises.

The trip was indeed a fruitful one in the sense that we not only learned a great deal about the current policies of the Chinese government, but also were able to see the differences in each place, thus gaining a much better understanding of the opportunities we could follow. The discoveries we've made from the trip will be beneficial not only to our own entrepreneur endeavor, but also to NACEA members at large when we share our experiences with everyone at the coming June meeting/ mini-seminar.
