Potluck (let's have some cool home-made food like last time. Bring your favorite dish together with some pancake or rice, noodles, etc to share with us all). NACEA will prepare fork and chopsticks, drinks, chips, water melon and more.

** Import note: Please be reminded that Sandy Hook is a "carry-in, carry-out" public beach. To keep it a clean place, bring your own waste bags(plastic bags) to carry out all your gabbages when leaving the place. NACEA will bring a few large gabbage bags for picnic.

Summer is leaving us! Let's have some fun on the Jersey Shore!

Following a nice picnic on Aug 4, NACEA is planning for a Beach Party. For optimal result, we would like to ask you help us get an idea who and how many can join. If you do not have other plans on Aug 25, please register below and let us know you can come. Also, help us make it a great party by offering some of your experience and suggestions when you sign in. In the Aug 4 multi-org picnic, NACEA table offered the best potluck combination and drew attention from many. Your participation will help us make another nice one.

About the oyster seed farm visit:

If you are interested in finding out how oyster is raised and what possibility there is in sea farming, come and meet Tony Ni, one of the oyster man in New Jersey!

Tony Ni graduated from an aquaculture university in China. Using his knowledge learned in the college, he started grew Oyster in 2001 at a nursery in Raritan bay area in Highland, NJ. After 7 years of waiting, he finally got his floating permit on 2008, which allows him to plant oyster in floating cage, and some other ocean species/ plants in the Atlantic ocean, 50 acres on shore, and 160 acres in deep water. With 2 acres oyster farm success on an automatic oyster growing system, he has now working on the entire 210 acres.

For those who are interested, after the beach gathering, we can pay a visit to Tony's oyster seed farm, just a few minutes away from sandy hook beach. We can have him share his story on how he got ripped off by the packaging supplier, and lost everything that he hard worked so hard for many years, and how he was able to turn around and continue on his entrepreneurial journey.

Afterwards, we can go to a seafood restaurant nearby and enjoy the fresh seafood there under 20 dollars per persons (suggested by the oyster farm owner Tony Ni).
