NACEA Monthly Meeting
Networking and Business Exchange

The coming NACEA monthly meeting will be co-hosted with CIE, Chinese Institute of Engineering, and will be an expanded & organized networking event, with a focus on business/project/ideas exchange. If you are a business owner, have a prototype or on-going project, or have an interesting concept/idea to share with others in hope to find a partner or listen to different opinions from peer entrepreneurs, please come to join us. In addition, NACEA also have some group projects that seek capable/entrepreneur type of people to join (part-time only at the beginning).

To be a group presenter, we hope you join NACEA as a former member, which is the least support you can show to our volunteer effort. For details, please visit www.naceaus.org membership section.

  • Ronghao Cheng - Magic Puzzle Game. Seeking IT partner to transfer it into electronic game.
  • Jianhua Yan - prototype, an integrated software platform to provide BI information to financial professionals mined from a wide variety of source on the Internet with automated real time delivery
  • Yong Guo - Investment Opp. in China (Windmill Parts Mfg); Seeking agents for China-made Automobile Parts for US market
  • Ping Peng - Commercial real estate investment opp. made possible to individuals
  • A-Roy San Juan - Voizpod.com, mobile media (beta-testing stage)
  • Discussion - Establishment of a Biotech Committee.

Agenda (subject to minor changes):

  1. 1:00 - 1:25pm Registration and set up groups, free networking (each participant selects his group)

  2. 1:30 - 2:00pm Communication Skills by Falicia Zimmerman

    • how to make self-intro at a public event, and how to make it impressive;
    • emailing or calling a potential client whom you haven't yet met,
    • meeting face-to-face with a potential or current client.
    • Q/As


  3. 2:00 - 3:00pm Round-table business/project/idea demo or intro. 3 groups: Biotech & IT, Engineering/New Energy/Environment, and Trading/Finance/Other businesses. Each table will have a NACEA officer as a host to control time and pace. Agenda of each group:

    • Self-intro (1 minute each), name, specialty, business interest, what particular business/project/idea is yours? what are you looking for, either from NACEA, or from other fellow entrepreneurs? Please try to be precise (write down what you want to say, if you are not used to public speaking)
    • Based on the brief intro, host will select a few to go into some details about their business, project/product or idea. Priority will be given to the pre-registerd presenters who send a request prior to the meeting. We can still accommodate a couple of projects. Please send your outline asap.


  4. 3:00 - 4:00pm Break and free networking and discussion groups. Attendees can select each other to form smaller groups and discuss their common interest.

  5. 4:00 - 4:20pm NACEA project intro, Q/As, and survey

    • New energy project (biofuels and solar): seeking experienced people with production or technical skills, or interested people with investment potential
    • Trade Show project: help Chinese companies/enterprises to join trade shows/fairs/expos in the US and follow up customer feedbacks. Seeking experienced people to join us.

Felicia Zimmerman - Expert at Communication Skills:

  • 21 years of entrepreneurial experience
  • 1st business, Zimmerman Advisory, Inc., provided communication consulting advice and training to executives and senior managers at leading corporations, including EDS (soon part of HP), Corning, Halliburton, ExxonMobil, and PricewaterhouseCoopers;
  • 2nd (and new) business, Fast Track English, LLC, http://www.fasttrackenglish.com/, which provides advanced online English training; site is free to registered users; leverages corporate experience on behalf of students and young working professionals; home page translates into Mandarin
  • Advisor to Connecticut chapter of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST-CT)
  • Speaks before Chinese student and scholar (CSSA) groups at U.S. universities (e.g., Yale), Chinese Culture Center of Connecticut, and other groups (see attached)
  • Has been studying Mandarin Chinese since 2006
