Judith A. Sheft is the Associate Vice President Technology Development at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. She is responsible for managing the university’s Office of Technology Development and creates programs and policies focusing on patent creation, intellectual property valuation, strategic use and protection of IP assets. She is also involved with economic development in the Newark Innovation Zone having responsibilities for management of the university’s high technology business accelerator/incubator, the Enterprise Development Center, and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center. She is on the Board of Advisors to the NJIT School of Management and the NJIT Albert Dorman Honor’s College Interdisiplinary Design Studio program. Since 2007 she has been a member of the NJ – Israel Commission.

Prior to joining NJIT, she had been a founding member of Licenz Group, an IP consulting firm that focuses on assisting companies to maximize the value of their IP portfolio. Before that she had worked as the Intellectual Property and Compliance Vice President for Agere Systems, the semiconductor subsidiary of Lucent Technologies. In that capacity she had profit and loss responsibility for Agere’s patent and technology licensing business. She was involved in the allocation of intellectual property assets during the AT&T trivestiture and is experienced in assessing patent portfolios. Ms. Sheft has provided IP guidance to many of the high technology M&A and divestiture activities at AT&T and Lucent.

Ms. Sheft has extensive business development experience outside the U.S. She played a lead role in negotiating a long-term alliance between Lucent/Agere and NEC in the field of semiconductor manufacturing technology. The alliance has lasted over a decade and is a prime example of collaboration between competitors.

Ms. Sheft has a BS and MS in Mathematics from the University of Illinois and an MBA in International Business from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She is a frequent speaker on the topic of intellectual property and strategic alliances and is an active member of the Licensing Executive’s Society.

Dr. Huailing Zhong is president of U-Pharm Laboratories LLC in Parsippany, New Jersey, USA. Dr. Zhong graduated from Nankai University (Tianjin, China) with a B.S. degree in Medical Physiology. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Physiology and Pharmacology from Wayne State University (Detroit, MI), where he studied adenosine receptors in the rat brain. Dr. Zhong then conducted extensive post-doctoral research at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI) in the following areas: structure and function of serotonin and dopamine transporters (SERT, DAT); regulation of DAT by cocaine; G protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling mechanisms; physiology of Regulators of G protein signaling (RGS). In 2002, Dr. Zhong joined Synaptic Pharmaceutical Corporation (Paramus, NJ), which shortly became Lundbeck Research USA (Paramus, NJ) in 2003. At Lundbeck, Dr. Zhong was Senior Research Scientist with broad responsibilities in drug discovery and development projects related to psychiatric and neurological disorders. Dr. Zhong has over 20 scientific publications on the signaling mechanisms as well as therapeutic discoveries within GPCRs, transporters and other targets. In 2010, Dr. Zhong co-founded U-Pharm Laboratories LLC. The mission of U-Pharm is to provide dedicated pharmacological and drug discovery services in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Dr. Zhong is a member of many professional associations, including the Society for Neuroscience (SFN), American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET), the Society of Biological Psychiatry (SOBP), New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS), North American Chinese Entrepreneur Association (NACEA), and Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SAPA). Dr. Zhong is also an Executive Officer of NACEA.

Mark Loeser

Chief Operating Officer, Krannich Solar

Mark Loeser began his career in the energy industry starting in 1980 as a reactor operator in the US Navy. Since then Mark has worked in various capacities within the energy production field such as power plant operations, environmental project management and regulatory affairs. He has experience with several top tier utilities such as American Electric Power and Exelon with the fleets of coal and nuclear power generators.

Since his early years in the power industry Mark has always kept his eye on emerging technologies, energy efficiency and renewable energy. His view of the energy industry is holistic in nature, which means it all starts with education, conservation and energy efficiency and then with renewable energy generation to reduce electricity consumption from large central power stations. His view of distributed generation has grown and refined over the years to his current vocation.

In 2005, Mark had the opportunity to enter the renewable energy field and since then has continually expanded his understanding of national and international markets for a variety of products available in the market today. After working with a California based integrator to develop the East Coast Solar PV market Mark had the opportunity to work with the New Jersey Clean Energy Program as Technical Director. One of the primary responsibilities was to evaluate new and emerging renewable energy technologies entering the marketplace.

Most recently Mark has taken a position with Krannich Solar, Inc, a top tier PV distributor in Europe, as Chief Operating Officer of US operations with the focus on expanding the market reach of this excellent German company.

Mingshe Zhu, Ph.D.

Principal Scientist, Bristol-Myers Squibb

Dr. Mingshe Zhu is a drug metabolism researcher in Dept of Biotransformation, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Princeton, NJ, USA, where his teams have supported lead optimization of several discovery programs, preclinical studies of over 15 drug candidates in development, regulatory approval of Abilify and NDA submission of Dapagloflozin. Dr. Zhu received Ondetti and Cushman Innovation Award at BMS (2007). His research interests include development and application of LC/MS technology, optimization of ADME properties, metabolic activation, and regulatory drug metabolism. He completed Ph.D. training in Analytical Toxicology at SUNY at Albany, and post-doctoral fellowship in Drug Metabolism at University of Washington. He has been frequently invited to speak at conferences/workshops and teach short courses at ASMS, EAS, ACS and CPSA. Dr. Zhu co-authored over 60 research publications and co-edited two books, “Drug Metabolism in Drug Design and Development” and “Mass Spectrometry in Drug Metabolism and Disposition”. In the past several years, Dr. Zhu actively promoted drug metabolism science and technology in China and built broad connections with DMPK leaders in Chinese academic institutes, pharma and CROs. The drug metabolism book he co-edited has been translated into Chinese by prominent scholars. Dr. Zhu was invited by SFDA to organize three days workshop of “Advanced Pharmaceutical Analysis and Regulatory Registrations” (2010), and played a key role in founding “Beijing Drug Metabolism Discussion Group” (2011). He also proposed and worked with several pharmaceutical scientists in USA and China to establish CPSA-Shanghai Young Scientist Excellence Award (2011). Yuan-Hua Ding, Ph.D.

Dr. Yuan-Hua Ding is a Senior Director and the Head of Pfizer External R&D Innovation – Asia, Pfizer Worldwide Research & Development. He partners with colleagues in Pfizer External R&D Innovation Unit, Pfizer Business Development Group and Pfizer Asia Research to evaluate academic research capabilities in Asia, build and manage a research network of academic institutes, biotech companies and Contracted Research Organizations (CROs). He liaises with therapeutic area and technology research unit leaderships in accessing the science and innovation needed to support Pfizer mission in Asia.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Ding hold a variety of positions in the Pfizer R&D division, including Head of Structural Biology at the Research Technology Center (RTC) in Cambridge, MA, Associate Research Fellow and Senior Research Scientist. He oversaw a group of scientists responsible for protein production, characterization,

crystallization, crystallography and structure-based drug design. His group supported structural based drug deign portfolio of 15+ programs, through collaborative effort between RTC, Pfizer global structural biology groups and therapeutic area project teams, including oncology, diabetes, inflammation and CNS.

Dr. Ding received a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Peking University in 1987 and a master’s degree in Biophysics from Tsinghua University in 1990. In 1996, after completed his doctoral studies in Biochemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, he moved to Harvard University as a postdoctoral fellow at Prof. Don Wiley’s lab to study structural immunology.

A variety of training and matchmaking programs are developed to provide small business owners direct contact with buyers and purchasing decision makers; educate small business owners about the current sourcing environment; develop marketing strategies; and demystify the contracting process with various federal, state and local government sectors.

For more than 25 years Stephanie has provided content rich presentations that empower and inspire her audiences and which move them to take immediate action. Dr. Tang has previously worked in Wall Street in different capacities including equity research, investment banking, and asset management for over 15 years at major investment banks. Tao Tao is the current the VP of North American Chinese Entrepreneur Association (NACEA). He works as a research scientist with IBM T.J.Watson research center on IT service management and has received three IBM research awards. He has been very active with several high profile oversea Chinese communities in Greater New York area in last 5 years. He is also Secretary of CIE-GNYC and has been a major organizer of more than 10 conferences and seminars of various sizes.

Tao Tao finished his Ph.D in computer science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2001. He also received M.S and B.S in computer science in 1995 and 1992 from Wuhan University, China. Prior to joining IBM in February, 2006, He had worked with United Airlines as a senior architect for 4 years (2001--2005) developing large-scale mission-critical applications for airport operations. May Li has been working in the renewable energy sector for over 3 years and has accrued comprehensive knowledge (technology, products and market) and market experience in the solar and LED industry. She is the co-founder and CEO of RimLife Green Technologies, a company that focuses on LED and solar product development and marketing. Under her leadership and management, the company has developed successful partnership with several LED and solar suppliers, an OEM manufacturing partner, distribution and project development partners in the tri-state area. The company is ready to launch greater marketing efforts and generate significant revenues.

Prior to this, May Li has served as VP of Marketing in RimLife Technologies, a software and IT outsourcing company where she led the development of several patented software and a successful revenue model in outsourced business. Her working experience also includes chief market/sales analyst of a multi-national company Sandvik US, and associated professor at University of International Business & Economics in Beijing, a renowned business school in China.

In addition to entrepreneurship, May Li founded and is now the Chairwoman of North-America Chinese Entrepreneur Association (NACEA), a non-profit organization that houses business owners, nurtures entrepreneurship and the US-China relationship in both government and business levels. 于保法任数家医院董事长，同时兼任山东保法肿瘤治疗股份公司董事长，济南嘉佐药物研究所所长，重点研究复方抗癌药物的组合和新药申报。他领导的团队获得抗癌美国中国和澳大利亚发明专利数项，他本人2000年1月获山东省科学技术委员会“99山东省十大杰出留学科技专家”称号，2005年1月获得中国青年志愿者协会“中国青年志愿者服务铜奖奖章”，2005年获中国国务院颁发的华侨华人专业人士‘杰出创业奖’，2006年3月获中国青年志愿者协会“中国青年志愿者行动贡献奖”。出版专业书籍三本，发表缓释库治疗癌症论文数十篇。论文参加AACR和ASCO（2011）并被录用。

2004年10月于保法教授倡议，由共青团团中央、国家卫生部、中央电视台共同主办，中国青年志愿者协会、山东保法肿瘤治疗股份有限公司及其下属三家医院承办的“中国青年志愿者医疗扶贫万里长征”，从江西省瑞金出发，途经广西、贵州、云南、四川、重庆、甘肃、宁夏、陕西等10个省市，为老区人民开展大病普查，送医送药、医务培训等服务，并为此次活动拿出300万元。沿途中总结出《中国农村卫生改革与现状调查报告》。胡锦涛总书记对该报告高度重视，批阅后转到卫生部，该报告促进了中国农村医疗卫生改革。2005-2007年间，于保法教授就“医疗扶贫万里长征”活动以及他关于癌症治疗的书籍和文章数次接受了CCTV《讲述》和《焦点访谈》栏目以及北京人民广播电台对他的采访。2006年，为响应国家号召，减轻患者负担，于教授在山东省率先推出了部分肿瘤“保效、限价”的措施，受到《齐鲁晚报》等多家媒体的报道

于保法是第十届全国人大代表，第十一届济南市政协常委，十二届济南政协委员和济南市致公党常委，致公党山东省委留学生专业委员会副主任，中国侨商投资协会理事，山东省侨商会副会长，济南市海外留学归国创业人员联谊会副会长。

高级工程师， 清华大学规划院电子商务与现代物流研究所所长、国防科技生产力促进中心技术推广部副总工程师，中国电子贸易产业技术创新战略联盟副秘书长、中国电子商务协会电子商务研究中心主任，中国电子商务协会高级专家、中国电子商务协会建设分会总工程师，并曾经担任中国标准化协会物流技术标准化工作组副组长、RosettaNet中国组织创建人之一。

邬晓红律师, Michelle Wu, Esq., Graham Curtin

Ms. Wu concentrates her practice in immigration law and corporate law, at Graham Curtin located in Morristown, New Jersey. Her immigration practice includes the petition, change, transfer and extension of various non-immigrant visas; permanent residency (employment-based, family-based and EB-5 investment immigration); and citizenship petitions.  She also has significant experience in corporate transactional matters including the incorporation of various forms of entities; corporate governance documents; drafting and negotiation of various commercial contracts and leases; mergers, acquisitions,

joint ventures and divestitures; securities and investment; cross-border transactions; and corporate counseling.   

Ms. Wu has assisted clients in the EB-5 investment green card petitions not only through investment in the USCIS approved regional centers but also by establishing and investing in new businesses or existing entities as well as through acquisition or forming and investing in joint ventures in the U.S.  

Ms. Wu served as Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Helen E. Hoens, Appellate Division, Superior Court of New Jersey.  During law school, Ms. Wu served as Judicial Intern for the Honorable Ronald J. Hedges, U.S.M.J., District of New Jersey. She also served as Managing Development Editor of the Rutgers Computer & Technology Law Journal. Currently she is a Trustee of the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association/NJ Foundation and is the Co-Chair of APALA/NJ's Professional Development Committee.  Ms. Wu is a graduate of Rutgers University Law School - Newark. She also obtained an M.P.H. from Columbia University. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
